Question
Why is it that no matter what I have in my life it never seems to be enough? I always feel as though I need more friendships, more material stuff, more fun, more time, more spiritual interests, etc. Is there any way that I can be satisfied with what I have at this moment? Why can't I control this recurring problem? My thoughts are always on what I don't have. I'm beginning to feel helpless and frustrated.
Answer
Yours is a very common problem. In today's society, many people tend to focus on what's missing instead of what's available in the present moment. I feel as though this represents the path of least resistance. It's not often that one remarks, "I have everything I desire at this moment." I believe this habit is based on the basic human misunderstanding that the first priority need not be spiritual growth. When you fill your life with spiritual reminders of what is truly important, other wants will dissolve. Spend extra time each day remembering things that you are thankful for. Simply tell yourself that for today you have an abundance of "stuff" as well as plenty of time to do everything you need to do for the day. Find peace and joy in the moment and you will begin to feel complete.
Question
I would like to ask a question about my dog. The dog is a female Labrador and she is one year old. Ever since she came to live with us, she barks (growl) when she is eating her food and she also barks at my youngest son. Most of the time she is a nice dog. What makes her bark, and what can we do about it. She also has a lot of sores on her body and legs, what is causing that? Thank you for your time.
Answer
Thanks for your question. It is not unusual for a dog to bark or growl when she is eating. First of all, give her a private place to eat where no one will be near. What has the vet said about the sores on her body? She should be checked. I believe they need medical attention and may have an allergy attached to them. If you use holistic remedies, what have you tried? I would definitely put a little vitamin E oil on the sores.
Let me hear from you and we can go farther into checking her out. She is a very nice dog and wants to fit in your household.
