Question
My dog, Dusty, has been missing for quite sometime and I miss him terribly. I know that you work with missing and ill animals, and I'd like to ask you what are some things that I can do to find him or have him come home on his own?
Answer
I certainly hope you and Dusty can be reunited soon. You've probably done all of the usual things, but just as a checklist here they are: call the local Animal Control, all the local shelters (call the nearby counties as well since dogs can travel long distances), and the radio stations that list missing animals; check with nearby neighbors; drive slowly (but carefully) around the area to physically look for him; check with local vets; create a flyer (with the dog's photo if possible) and distribute to neighbors, local stores, vets, and post them wherever you can. After you have done these things, create a time each day to do a visualization - "see" Dusty returning home. Do not picture him dead on the side of the road. - dogs read mental images and can become frightened. Put out some of his food (on the porch or at least near the house even though another animal may well eat it). And, it's always a good idea to call a reputable animal communicator to see if you can get additional support and guidance.
